Outlaw Karts by Gary Jacob.Red Bluff, CA…Oct 15…Second quick Tyler McCain had problems in his heat race and was forced to start his night in the C Main as Red Bluff opened their winter indoor season of outlaw kart racing on Saturday night. T McCain won the C Main and transferred into the A Main with a 3rd place finish in the B Main. In the 25 lap A Main, T McCain battled from 13th starting to win by two seconds over Tony Sousa and heat winner Cody Braund. Fast timer Ryan Foster ran fourth ahead of B Main winner Josh Chartier. Racing slightly faster than T McCain, fifth quick Garrett Mills won the Open Intermediate 25 lapper with just a half-second margin on Mason Moore. Keith Bloom Jr was third ahead of fast timer Dillon Silverman. Turning a quicker time that either of the open winners, heat winner Thomas Bruckenstein was victorious in the Intermediate 25 lapper, finishing nearly two seconds in front of Klamath Falls OR long tow Dylan Pemberton and Brian Southers. This season, Red Bluff is not letting drivers race in both the Open Intermediate and Intermediate classes like they could in the past. Nevada long tows finished 1-2 in the 25 lap Box Stock A Main as 7th quick Zachary Heinz finished 1.28 seconds in front of Kellcy Bell. James Edens ran third in front of Casey McClain. Dash winner Chase Majdic out dueled fast timer Richie Carrel for the win in the 25 lap Beginner Box Stock feature, finishing ½ second in front at the checkered flag. Zachary Rushing was third ahead of Katina Baker. Jeff Smith dominated the 10 lap F200 feature, finishing nearly a lap ahead of Alyssa Hogan with last year's champion Kevin Acosta in third. The indoor Red Bluff action started just one week after the teams had finished their outdoor season at Cycleland Speedway. Red Bluff will race six Saturdays in a row, take Thanksgiving weekend off, then run the first 3 Saturdays in December before taking a holiday break. Red Bluff has 14 point races scheduled for the 2005-06 season.

The Open Outlaw class drew a huge 52 kart turnout and pavement late model star Ryan Foster paced time trials with his 8.661 clocking. T McCain ran 8.705 and Pete Johnston was third at 8.724. The fastest 24 karts were all in the 8's in the highly competitive class. Cycleland champion Tyler Wolf ranked fourth at 8.727 ahead of John Michael Bunch and Bubba Hill. Bunch and B Hill ran 1-2 in the dash from their front row starts. Foster did race through the field to capture heat 1 as the Red Bluff heat races only transfer two karts into the A Main in this class. Tyler Ritcheson ran second from the pole ahead of B Hill. Braund won heat 2 from the outside front row ahead of pole starter Blake Donaldson and Chartier. Jason Schuppert turned a pole start into a win in heat 3 ahead of fifth starter Johnston and David Wilson. Wolf battled from the third row to capture heat 4 over Sousa and Oregon's T J Kress. Kart builder Dean Bare won heat 5 ahead of pole starter Mike Wheeler from Medford OR. Shawn Amos ran third. With the large turnout, the feature action started with an E Main and 16th quick Brian McCain won that ahead of Brent Hamilton and Scott Morton. B McCain had problems in the D Main, but Hamilton again advanced with a third behind winner Joe Weststeyn from Oregon and 8th quick Brandon Aldred. The B Main features some of most intense racing of the night as they battle for those final four slots in the A Main. Chartier won the B Main ahead of Brett Miller, T McCain and B Hill. Wilson just missed in fifth ahead of  Bunch and T Kress. The A Main was now filled with it's 14 starters and all but Donaldson finished that 25 lap run.
